davon wünschen wir uns – wie sicher viele andere Anwender auch

– ein helles kopfbewegtes LED-Moving-Light mit einer Farbmi-

schung vor den Linsen, Zoom, schneller Bewegung, wenig Gewicht

und einem vertretbaren Preis. Im Bildbereich ist eine spannende

Entwicklung der (Wieder-)Einzug der dreidimensionalen Darstel-

lung. Uns wird interessieren, wie diese Techniken im Veranstal-

tungsbereich einsetzbar sein werden. Im Tonbereich hoffen wir

auf aktuelle Lösungsvorschläge in Bezug auf die leidige Frequenz-

problematik von Funkstrecken.

Wie auch schon auf der LDI in den Vereinigten Staaten und auch

auf der PLASA in London zu beobachten war, erwarte ich auch auf

der Prolight + Sound ein breiteres Aufgreifen des Themas Ökologie

in der Veranstaltungstechnik. Dabei sollte man aufpassen, dass

dieses Thema nicht zu einem reinen Marketing-Gag wird. Natür-

lich ist eine Erhöhung des Lichtoutputs bei gleichbleibender Leis-

tungsaufnahme ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung, aber ob eine

solche Verbesserung direkt einen grünen Aufkleber verdient,

möchte ich bezweifeln. Bei einer ernsthaften Bewertung der Gerä-

te ist auch nicht nur die Effizienz während des Betriebes zu

betrachten, sondern natürlich auch die Aufwendungen für Herstel-

lung und Entsorgung zu sehen. Sinnvolle Veranstaltungsplanung

in Bezug auf Menge und Auswahl der Geräte sowie eine clevere

Logistik für Personal- und Materialtransporte kann auch ihren Bei-

trag zu einer Verringerung von Belastungen liefern.

Zum Thema Techniktrends: Man sollte meiner Meinung nach nicht

immer nach dem Dernier Cri schielen. Vor einiger Zeit waren in

jeder TV-Show positionierbare LED-Grafikpixel-Geräte zu sehen,

derzeit sind Beam-Moving-Lights en vogue. Am Ende handelt es

sich aber bei allen Geräten nur um Werkzeuge, die es uns ermög-

lichen, bestimmte Ziele zu erreichen und die nicht zum Selbst-

zweck erhoben werden sollten.

Since we are in a continuous dialogue with manufacturers and dis-

tributors I do not expect a huge surprise or a host of news, even

though some new products are first introduced in Frankfurt for

dramaturgical reasons. Still the Prolight + Sound has a very special

standing based on the direct communication with partners and

colleagues. And we should not forget that we are privileged to have

the leading tradefair of our business right on our doorstep while

some others in the market have to fly halfway round the world to

be here.

In the filed of LED lighting we expect further progress – and there

impressive values are now reached regarding brightness. It is inter-

esting to see the possibilities to combat the existing problem of

unbalanced color projecting caused by the small range of the avail-

able LEDs. In addition we – like many other users – are looking for a

bright, head-moved LED moving-light with a colour mix in front of

the lenses, zoom, fast reactions, low weight and a reasonable price.

In the sector of pictures an interesting development is the (re-

)introduction of three-dimensional playback. We are very interest-

ed how these technologies can be used for events. In the audio

sector we hope for current solutions regarding the frequency prob-

lems with wireless systems.

I expect a rising interest in ecological issues at Prolight + Sound,
