TICKETS, BAG TAGS, BOARDING PASSES:
IER, the one-stop-shop
IER is fully involved in the Simplifying the Business (StB) program launched by IATA and proposes numerous
solutions to help airlines and airports reduce their costs. One of IER’s solutions consists of a highly competitive
and complete range of paper consumables totally compliant with IATAs specifications.
S
ince IER started manufacturing
baggage tag and boarding pass
printers in the 1980s, our R & D
engineers have gained an extensive expertise
in both types of documents printed with our
machines. Manufacturing paper consumables
to guarantee our customers the best printing
quality was just the logical decision to make.
IER then started the production of paper
consumables at the beginning of the 2000s.
Adhesive luggage tags, designed for thermal
printing, are extremely familiar to passengers
and airline agents alike. They look very simple
and are used in tremendous quantities
worldwide (over 2 billion bag tags per year).
Yet they are made of an assembly of different
layers of material requiring high technological
skills that our production plant IER Graphic
has developed over 25 years while producing
labels for a variety of industrial sectors such
as logistics, sport and leisure, food
processing, etc.
The combination of IER’s knowledge of
specific requirements of air transport paper
consumables and IER Graphic’s experience
in the pr
oduction of highly sophisticated
documents and labels enable us to provide
our customers with extr
emely reliable and
cost-ef
fective paper consumables. Over 50
airlines and airports worldwide have already
chosen our pr
oducts.
More than a ticket…
IER proposes a wide range of bag tags,
boar
ding passes, coupons, flight strips as
well as car
go labels meeting the standar
ds
and requirements of the industry.
First Class Customer Service

T
he world of check-in is changing.
Everyday, passengers are getting more
familiar with web services at home and
self-ser
vice processes at the airport. At the
same time, airlines, airports and ground-
handling companies need to implement
ef
ficient and cost-effective solutions.
T
o meet these new trends and requirements,
IER has introduced two intuitive, comprehensive
and af

designed for companies wishing to quickly offer
self-service check-in to their passengers.
ALISS
IER proposes ALISS, a CUSS compatible self-
service check-in application to be deployed
on check-in kiosks.
ALISS is a comprehensive, intuitive and easy to
use check-in application. It has been designed
for airports that do not want to invest in the
development of a complex custom application
or for airports or ground handling companies
looking for a turnkey solution for their local use.
Its thin client architecture allows fast distribution
over an installed base of kiosks from
a centralized location.

ALADIN
ALADIN is a web check-in application that
allows passengers to check-in at home,
at the office, from any Internet-connected
PC or on a Web Check-in kiosk.
Both are part of a check-in turnkey solution
that can be customized to your graphical chart
and be easily implemented.
As illustrated in the figure below, the business
logic has been isolated from the DCS
connection logic. The DCS connection module
offers a check-in API in the form of web
services which can be used by ALISS
and ALADIN.
IER will develop the connection to your host
system (DCS). ALISS and ALADIN also include
a remote administration module that
administrators will use to configure and
administer their application. The remote
administration module is also able to deliver
statistical information about the usage of
the application by geographical location.
